What's been really important to me in this experience is being reminded that we need to be reminded far more than we need to be taught — and taking the structure I look at in my business, organizationally and operationally, and thinking about how that applies to my family life. How does it apply to the most important relationships in my life? Taking that intention and creating real space with my wife to set that up within our family, to support our girls, who are four and eight, and build the family structure we really need.

It's one thing to be responsive and in the moment in situations, but we want to create the values and structure up front so we're always on the same team going into those experiences. That's the one thing I'd say will impact my family most directly. And from a business perspective, it's taking those lessons and underscoring them from a role-model perspective — making sure I show the people I work with, my clients, my team, that I'm always leading from the front.
