Rod Yancy on the book of notes and new relationships he's bringing home from Necker Island.

Full Reflection

Necker has been an amazing experience. REBL Dads is incredible, and it's going to tremendously impact what I do at home with my family. I've been able to discuss with incredible leaders, business owners, and fathers all their tips, tricks, and best practices for how they're on the ground raising their kids to be incredible leaders themselves.

I have a whole book of notes based on our sessions. One thing that stuck with me: one of the attendees talked about breaking up character issues when he's talking with his family — another way of saying he doesn't sweat the small stuff with his kids. He's not always nagging or lecturing them, but he knows the core values and character traits of his family and communicates them clearly, so the kids understand. That resonated with me — I'm going home to build that into what I do with my family in a deliberate way.

On the leadership side, it's been incredible to pick the brains of these business owners — many have built their own companies and reached tremendous heights, some have sold companies, some are doing business together right now. There's too much to go home and implement on the business side to list, but I know there are people I met here I can call anytime, and they'll answer — that's an incredible thing, having a new relationship like that.
